Event Coordinator

Duties and Required Education/Training:

  • Responsible for field trips, special events, no school camps, and THEMED open gyms.
    • All activities, supplies, staffing, and logistics for these events
  • Responsible for hiring, firing, and training of event staff (may use current staff if possible)
  • Work with Business Manager to pick yearly special events and no school camps
    • Communicate these events to DLs and add to gym calendar
  • Works with Business manager to market all events
  • Develop and implement training material for all event staff
  • Keep an ongoing account of what is working and not working for the next year
  • Communicate with parents if any issues arise with a child during any event
  • Preside over all event functions or assign a lead to preside in your absence
  • Report Progress and profit/loss reports on all events to business manager within a reasonable time frame


  • If current employee, candidate must be able to effectively execute these responsibilities without any decline in other assigned duties.
  • Minimum of 21 years of age
  • Embrace that: Increasing class enrollment through these activities is paramount
  • Efficient and effective at organization and personal time management
  • Strong desire and ability to coordinate with other departments and department leaders.
  • Great communication skills (staff, parents, and students)
  • Must be able to develop rapport with staff, parents, and students.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience working with children or 1 year at Mills gymnastics USA
  • Must be high energy, outgoing, and personable.

Summer Camp Director

Duties and Required Education/Training:

  • In charge of all counselors in the camp and developing a work schedule for the counselors
  • Work with Camp Administrator to pick yearly dates, themes, field trips and structure camp
  • Work with Camp Administrator to develop and implement camp training material for staff
  • Plan the camp daily schedule and activities in accordance with the weekly theme
    • Crafts
    • Snacks
    • Games/Activities
  • Must pass DHS Central Registry & USAG background check
  • Must perform and maintain weekly camp logs
    • Fire Drill
    • Camper screening
    • Med log
    • Incident Log
    • Must become Red cross CPR & First Aid certified
  • Oversee camp check out daily or assign a lead for camp check out
  • Communicate with parents on what to expect at camp each week (via camp welcome letter)
  • Keep an ongoing account of what is working and not working for the next year
  • 30 hours of pre-camp training along with camp CPR, First Aid, and Concussion Training
  • Will coordinate all field trips, swimming, bussing and handle all paperwork.
  • Communicate with parents if any issues arise with a child.
  • Preside over all camp functions or assign a camp lead in your absence
  • Report Progress on all happenings of the camp to administrator.
  • Meet with Camp Administrator to review profit/loss


  • Minimum of 21 years of age and hold an Associate degree
  • If a current staff member, applicant must be able to effectively execute these duties without any decline in their currently assigned responsibilities
  • Ability to handle parents, children, and counselors
  • Great communication skills. Effective, and efficient organizer
    • Able to manage and handle paperwork (all paperwork must be completed thoroughly and on time)
    • Uses allocated time efficiently
  • Effective communication skills with campers, staff, and parents.
  • Must be able to develop rapport with staff, parents, and students.
  • Minimum of 10 weeks experience working with camp population
  • 4 weeks administrative experience in an organized camp or similar program
  • Familiar with the State of Michigan’s administrative rules of Camp


Mills Gymnastics is looking for fun, enthusiastic individuals who LOVE working with children. Experience with children is required, experience with athletics is preferred. Part time hours - evening and weekend availability is required.

We have a proven training program so even if you have zero gymnastics experience, we can train you to be an excellent coach but, you must LOVE children!!
